Boob Tube: Fear the Walking Dead’s Season Four Comes to Hulu and it’s Bad Ass

I love The Walking Dead. It’s bangarang, it rocks my actual face off. I’m one of the very few fans who’s never felt tired of the show. It’s never let me down and I’ve never hate watched it. My favorite character is whoever’s on screen at the time. I love it unironically because I cut my teeth on more old-fashioned zombie flicks.

It’s hard to not feel like people are being really stupid when they say there’s something lacking in a show with so much story and so much action, but there are valid critiques. Like the lack of strong, female leaders. Until the rise of Elijah and Michonne, the lack of people of color leading. The lack of diversity, in general. Even though it has been getting better.

Love TWD but out of fifteen people in this composite shot, only five are POC and two of those are zombies. Ugh.

So that’s why it boggled my mind that so many TWD fans hated it’s sister series, Fear the Walking Dead. While it clearly didn’t have the same budget as TWD, Fear was everything the SJW critics wanted The Walking Dead to be – It showed coastal and urban locations. It’s more racially diverse. Unashamedly portraying different sexualities as normal. Madison, a woman and a mother, is clearly the main badass of the show. And it sat fanboys down, petted their heads and explained things they’d been asking about — like what happens if you try to seastead to escape the zombies.

It has all the writing of The Walking Dead with more diversity, different locations and a talented and charasmatic cast. Still, folks hated it. It’s not like it’s anywhere near perfect, but the venom from the fandom over what amounts to a fanservice spin-off is crazy.

Plus what’s-his-face, hottie from El Teen Wolf-o. Can’t hate that.

Well, after binge watching the first three seasons last year, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the Hulu release of season four —- and I wasn’t disappointed!

One of my all-time favoite TWD characters, Morgan, headlines the first episode along side some new characters and cameos by TWD alumni. 4×01 is BOSS. Morgan’s a bad ass and shows off that badassery with some wicked fight scenes.

If this is the route they’re going with season four, I’m definitely on board!
